So Bush says at an oval office photo-op, "We will continue to look and see if the Iranians were involved," he also noted that his CIA director has stated that no direct connection existed. I can't quite compute this yet. I sort of doubt that he's revving the old 'Axis of Evil' bit back up. That would be what they call 'political suicide' at this point, so what is it? Iran just keeps popping up. Are we sending a little message? Or could the allegations be true? Some have already speculated that Iran used Chalabi to goad us into invading Iraq. Chalabi was no small-fry, being practically set to be president of the new Iraq, and he was caught passing intelligence to Iran. Unfortunately I haven't heard what more has come of this since, it seems to be 'off the radar.'
Even with all that though, it doesn't compute. If Iran really did pull one over on our 'administration' with Iraq, to have it go all the way back to 9/11 would be beyond brilliance. A manipulation of that magnitude would be unheard of in human history.
