OK, I came across this article a couple of days ago...

Depression, a Sugar Pill Is Hard to Beat -- Washington Post

Isn't that something? Not only do sugar pills produce the same outer results but they actually note that placebos even "...cause profound changes in the same areas of the brain affected by the medicines."

That's some hearty food for thought. Especially when you consider the already obvious, gross over-use of psychotropic medications and the accompanying very unpleasant side-effects that many people have experienced. The moral of this story is that we need to give a little more thought to our societal view that doctors handing out psychotropic drugs like candy is completely acceptable, while we crusade against the great evil of psychotropic 'street' drugs. Those views just aren't compatible. Anyway, you can do the research yourself.

Drugs are bad mmm'kay... especially crazy lab chemicals.
